of political instinct and that even were Germany in a position to help the Irish people she woud do so.
A man in doubt is a bad worker; and I have been in this doubt for some time now, and I fear the doubt increases.
I say this to you because if the Brigade takes shape I need you for it, and at any rate you know something of the Irish in America -what they stand for, what they hope for. If this help is worth having, as well as that of Irishmen at home, then it is worth while displaying here the spirit of full and frankest cooperation.
