Tract written in praise of Captain Patrick O'Donnelly

ReadAboutContentsHelp
The words "Laus O'Donnell", on page 6, are written in a different hand to the main content of the manuscript. Captain Patrick O'Donnelly was sent by O'Neill to inspect all the seaports in Ireland with a view to a maritime invasion (Calendar of State Papers, Ireland (1625-32), p. 217. A genealogy of the O'Donnelly family which seems to be in John Colgan's hand was preserved at St Isidore's College, Rome. See Analecta Hibernica, vol. 6, pp 237-244.
