Charles Sanders Peirce Papers
MS Am 1632 (339)
Logic notebook, CSP 339

When editing of Peirce’s papers was begun, this manuscript was
largely out of proper sequence and was scattered among several files.
During editing an attempt was made to arrange the papers in proper
sequence, and following that attempt page numbers were assigned to each
part. These numbers appear as lightly penciled marks on the upper right
corner of each recto.

Subsequent to the above arrangement, some pages were further
rearranged in what was believed to be an improved sequence. In so doing,
however, no changes were made in the above assigned numbers. The
microfilm produced in 1964 reproduced the pages in this order. A check
list of the contents of this manuscript was prepared in August 1961 by Don
D. Roberts. This check list follows this document. Within it are indicated
some of the sequential changes made prior to microfilming.

Prior to digital photography in 2010, the manuscript was collated
against the corrected sequence provided in the checklist. Where the
foliation needed to be changed, this was done by lightly striking through the
first foliation, and writing the new foliation below it.
