But there is an important class of exceptions to the rule that nothing is deducible from the Infinite, and the inquirer will hardly have completed the Retroductive Stage of his inquiry until he recognizes as an inseparable implication of his hypothesis that we can distinguish in some respects between effects on our conduct and cognition produced by a Real God and the those produced by a fictive one; among which effects is that produced by searching out and by finding the hypothesis itself.
