Monday 17 Morning wet but warm occashionly raining all day received a letter from my friend Doct Carter and one from Rev G. W. Lylsand good man useful to the church indefaticable in his work rote home to my family a messenger comes for me to visit a man in the hospital belongs to Co E but he was sleeping and will not awake him in my tent nearly all day read the Scripture & retired

Tuesday 18th
Morning wet and warm
my cold no better take
Doct Bringert pills to night
wrote home to Doct Carter
received a letter from Bro Miller
encouraging news
from home visit the hospitals
in Williamsport the man
with a cut head still bad
Mr Boyd the man i was called on
to see yester very low was visited this
evening by Sheriff Reynolds from Cecil
