I Sat. Night
Dear Kids At last some of my mail has caught up with me. That was the cutest card. All of the girls got a big kick out of it. My Lt. laughted until she cried. There are 10 of us girls working together as cadre for Co. 5 + yesterday morning we didn't have to get up except to be at breakfast at 7 and the night before one of the girls was sick + we were up with her until we could get an ambulance + send her to the hospital and didn't any of us wake up the next morning so therefore we went without breakfast. I sure like it here + I like the work so much better. Lots of fun. We will just have the new recruits two days and send them on over to South Post. We take them to get their shots, clothes, show them how to make beds, salute, stand at attention. In other words we get to raise H--L with them first + make them do the dirty work in the barracks. Some take it swell. Others cry. Some cuss a little but we just laugh at them and we are all acting corporals + will have our stripes next week but won't get any increase in pay for a while. Some kind of a mix up. I don't know just what. This is Saturday night but someone had to stay as C.Q. (charge of quarters) so I said I would as I didn't have anything special to do. Three of the kids went to Chattanooga Tenn + saw a show + came back. Said they didn't want me to be by myself. So we are all writing letters. I made my check on all of the barracks. I mean the four that we have + the supply house. So now I am through for the night except keeping the fires. You would get a big kick if you could see our quarters. Our part is an old CCC Camp. Stove heat and baths + toilet in a building back of our sleeping quarters. But they are fixing it up + it is going to be nice. Say Oh! Boy is it nice here. Little chilly here today but it has been swell. Nice + warm.

Fort Oglethorpe Georgia -3How are the boys + what are they doing? I sure would like to see them. Every time Louis writes he asks about them. He is still in New Mexico. How is G.W. ? I had a letter from Mike. Said he saw G.W. and he sent me the clipping out of the paper and Mr. Kirk sent me the paper. Mrs. Stella sent me the cutest valentine. Joe has his Corporal's stripes. I would have sent the kids some valentines but couldn't buy any on the post + I didn't get to go to wotn. When have you see Al? I have never got his address. I am sending you the key to my suitcase. Open it and take out your picture + the boys. Get me another folder for your + GW's picture + send them to me by return mail. There is a pair of stockings in there that I wore You can take them out + have them clean

if you want them. But don't use my other ones. I'm not going to ever make plans to come home again. I'll just wait + when I get a chance I'll come. I'll tell you this + so help me it is the truth. I am perfectly happy + satisfied. I have gained 5 1/2 lbs but have lost my beer tummy. How is my shadow and why don't she write? I'll be kicking her teeth in one of these days. What is the matter with Norma? She has never written to me. Some of these Sundays when you feel good how about making me a cake. Apple sauce. I mean. I bet we sure would enjoy it. Well kids guess I had better quit scribbling + call it a day for I think I have done quite well. Don't you think so? Tell Boehn he is going to catch h..l + I don't mean maybe. Love to you all.
