Dear Kids - Sunday
Received your card today. Am glad you like your coat. Did you get your dresses fixed? I told the girls last night I felt the urge to wear civilian clothes so I put on a pair of civilian panties as that is all the civilian clothes I have. They laughed until they cried. We went to Chattanooga to the K. C. Hall. They really treated us nice served home made cookies + punch.
[?] kids, I have been recommended for O.C.S. (Officer Candidate School) Do you think I could make it? They say it is very tough. How would you like for your mom to be a Lt. Sounds pretty good doesn't it? I have to go before the board when it meets. Time will tell. It'll sure be good to get my box especially my watch as I never get

any place on time. And we are on field rations + any thing you send to eat will be appreciated.
Be sure to take my ration book and sign up for me another one. If you want to use the stamps for shoes now go ahead.
I sure would like to see the boys. I never saw [?] kids grow so fast. The girls here have a lot of fun. They pick up their pictures + will say hello Jimmy hello Jerry. You are pretty, you are sweet now go to sleep. Good night. [?] up fast + I'll wait for you. They tell [?] to hurry up + bake another cake [?] keep us in suspense we are starving. [?] + more B.S. We laugh over the [? things for when we don't have a [?] we don't have much to [?] around to B.S. each other. I had bad luck this week and bruised my thumb so have it all

taped up + have to go have it x-rayed tomorrow. It sure is painful. Do you think you could get me a smaller case than the one I have I mean the one I sent home. Have too much in my cosmetic case. Would like for it to match.
Well kids I would like to be with you tonight but have to go in my little cot.
I have lost Al's address. Please send it to me by return mail and ask him what he thinks of my going to O.C.S + tell him I said for him to write me.
Well kids I don't know any news I guess I'll say good night + go to bed. Write often as it does get pretty lonesome around here when I don't hear from you.
