Dear Andy:
First, let me apologize for my lateness in answering your letter. I was literally cleaning out my desk when I came across it; my kids must have stuck it away between two books as they often do.
I am returning the Times piece you sent, and am enclosing a publication of my own, which I don't believe you have seen.
Life goes on here. I am still on the circuit, am expecting another child in January, have bought a new - 30 year old - house, and I believe I'll run for Congress in November, 1970, although I am not absolutely sure.
About Stokeley Carmichael, you should write and ask for an invitation; he is, as I understand it, living in the villa that John Lewis, Bob Moses, James Forman and I and others occupied with Harry Belafonte when we were in Guinea in 1964.
I seldom see Joe Cummings, as I am in and out of Atlanta a great deal; I have become a moderate capitalist, owning 5% of a company that in turn owns two Wishbone Fried Chicken stores and three Dairy Queens, and otherwise just toddle along.
I have a friend who works for Air France - Peter Steward by name - who on occasion goes to Kenya; I've given him your name and he may look you up. He was my high school roommate - I can only describe his politics as Tory, but he is a good man.
I will hunt around for the book list, but might suggest you'd do better by writing the Ebony Book Store which I believe is advertised in Ebony magazine which might be found in your local USIA library.
That piece you sent is full of misstatements, but what can

you do; I notice that they have no letters to the editor.
Please write again, and I will do the same.
