Dear Parker,
Just a quick note to say that when you return you may find things in general disarray.
Every day as I look at Georgia's politics I wonder what might have been if we had only . . . .
I am enclosing some of Andy Young's literature, he will need help, but even more so, C.B. King, the black Albany attorney, needs it more. He - unlike Andy - will be nearly without staff and funds, particularly the kind of economic expertise you can bring.
He needs to be able to drop some realistic - and attention getting - statements about what's wrong with Georgia economically, as well as some prescriptions about setting it right. Can you help him out during your brief sojourn here?
I am also enclosing a clipping is which off the point, but shows how poorly my own economics are faring.
