I heartily support the concept of a Black Academy of Music for the Seattle area, including a community orchestra.

The Community Orchestra under the competent leadership of Joseph Brazil has already proved itself a valuable asset. An investment in an endeavor of this kind will most assuredly provide needed positive identity reinforcements not only for its members but for the larger community as well, for music is an integral part of the very core of the Black experience.

I urge an affirmative response to the request for your assistance.
