Dear Yancey:
I write this because it may be forgotten when we next meet.
Assuming all our plans fall into place, S.E.F. must become visible not only among the people who support it, but also among the people it hopes to support.
This can be done through development of the newsletterp presently only a fund raising device - and through personal communication with our Southern constituency who are: ---the regions already elected officials ---defeated candidates, including those who wanted our help and didn't get it as well as those who did ---recipients of V.E.P. grants for the last two years (I have the list) ---NAACP chapter presidents in the eleven Southern states ---contacts from the sharecroppers fund, C.A.P. directors, from the A.C.L.U. and other Black and/or liberal groups ---McGovern contacts in the eleven Southern states
These last three groups will have to be obtained somehow, but having them will put us in touch with the actual and potential movers and shakers of Southern politics now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Julian
