Camp de Meucon France November 11 1918

My Darling Wife - Vive la Amerique! Vive la France! Le guerre est fini! I heard this on every side to-night. Major Dan, Chas. Wick, Shuley, Walter Byrne and I went in to-night to see the celebration at Vannes. The French are frantic with delight. They were having torch light parades and going through the streets singing the Marsailles and the "Star Spangled Banner" and yelling "Vive le Amerique". The little children would run out in the street and grasp your hands and the French soldiers would rush up and throw their arms around your neck and kiss you on both cheeks. event it is, Darling, aside from all the [weary?] terrible four years of tragedy, they have the satisfaction of knowing that Germany will never be able to rise against them again.

Oh! Darling the little joy bells are ringing in my heart too, because I know that now the time is limited until we are to-gether at home again. The thought of such happiness, makes me appreciate how the French husbands and fathers must be overcome with joy that they can be safely home again with their love ones.

To-night is a gorgeous moonlight night, and I have had you in my heart every minute. I love you so much and our darling boy. How I wish that I could see you tonight. I could not go to
