Point Barrow, Alaska.

Aug. 16, 1935:

Death, reaching through an Arctic fog, overtook Will Rogers, peerless comedian, and Wiley Post, master aviator, as their rebuilt airplane faltered and fell into an icy little river last night near this bleak outpost of civilization.

The lives of both Rogers and Post [2 lines deleted] were crushed out instantly as the impact drove the heavy motor back through the fuselage.

Nov 8, 1932. Gov. Franklin Roosevelt, was elected President of the United States. He defeated President Hoover by a big majority. [dotted line drawn across page]

Chicago, July 22, 1934. John Dillinger, Arch-Criminal of the age, was shot dead tonight by a group of department of Justice operatives as he walked out of a Chicago movie theater.

15 operatives had [word deleted] surrounded the theater, after information had reached Melvin H. Purvis, Chicago agent for the department of Justice, that Dillinger would attend the theater. [line drawn across page]
