Saturday. January 1 1944

There is still some
snow on the ground but it
is some warmer. The sun has
shown nearly all day. I have
cleaned up the house today and
have done the general house
work. Mother is still sick
with the flu. I think she is
a little better. Robert + I both
have awful bad colds. Mrs
Sipson came this afternoon. I went
to Uncle Brock's house + got my
lamp. I took a walk + went to
the tobacco barn where
Mr. Gipson + Rep
were. Listened to
the Radio some
tonight. I read
2 chapters in
the Bible today.

Sun. January 2 1944.
It has rained
all day.
Robert is sick
today. We called
Dr Finley
+ he said Robert + Mother
has the flu. He said they both
need to stay in the bed. My cold
isn't any better. I read a little
tonight after Robert went to sleep. Rex
read some also.

Mon. January 3 1944.
Rex went to
town today to
get some medicine for Mother
+ Robert. Robert isn't any better.
Mother is a little better. My
cold isn't any better. It has been
cloudy all day + rained some.
I wrote Joe + Bonnie + wrote
Aunt Ema Fowler also. Robert
has kept me busy today as he
wanted me to hold him or do
something for him all day.
