It has rained a flood this Morning. I guess we won't get to raise very much of a crop this time. It has rained so much that Rex hasn't gotten much planted. Mother said Miss Cassie came while we were gone and thay she didn't seem to be much better. I varnished the little cedar chest and the back-porch table legs. I moped & waxed the kitchen floor. Rex & I went to town this afternoon. I got a new permanent. Rex & I drove down to Plesasant View and saw where they are going to open the coal mines on Mother's place. Pleasant View cemetary sure looks nice. It has been cut with a lawn mower.

Rex, Robert, Mother & I went to town early this Morning. We got Robert a straw hat, a pair of long pants & a pair of Sandal's. Rex is going to Murry Kentucky to a speaking with Mr. O. C. Whitfield and Mr. Will Cardwell and several others. I took Mother to Dr. Finley to see about her hurt leg. He gave her some medicine for it. Mother & Robert then went to Jessie's & I stopped to see Jean. I went back to town and ate my lunch and went to the Show. I went back to Jessie's and Lawrence took Jean & I out to the hospital to see Rubye. There was a card on the door that said no visitors. Jean & I went in and spoke to her. She sure looks bad. I wonder if she will ever leave the hospital. I stayed down to the shop with Jean a long time. We ate supper at Jessie's. I Read a little tonight and listened to the Radio.
