It has been hot today. I spayed the beans & butter beans and mowed the yard and have done the general house work. Robert & Mother went to Mrs. Jones a little while. I got a letter from Aunt Georgia McGuyer and she says they are going to see Alyene the last of this month or the first of August & I can go with them. I sure hope I will get to go.

Friday, July 18, 1947
I made a cake and 2 pies. Bob Wiley ate dinner with us. He is helping Rex work. Betty Wiley came a little while this afternoon . I cleaned up the house. Rex & I went to town tonight . Rex went to a Speaking and I went to the show, I saw "Duel in the Sun". I didn't like the show as well as I expected to like it.
