Saturday, January 4, 1947 4th Day--361 Days to Follow It has been awful cold today. Mathew, Robert, Rex & I went to town today. Mathew, Robert [and] I ate down in town, then Rex took Robert & Mathew to Jessie's. I went to the Show this afternoon. I Read some tonight
Sunday, January 5, 1947 5th Day--360 Days to Follow We are still having cold weather. The sun has been shining part of the day. The ground is frozen hard. Doc ate dinner with us. I wrote a letter to Maud [and] Uncle Joe. I Read a little to Robert out of a Xmas Book. I Read some tonight. I wanted to go to church today, but as the car wasn't doing as it should We didn't go. Rex will take it to the garage tomorrow.

Monday, January 6, 1947 Rex went to town today. Court met. The sun has been shining today. It is some warmer. The ground has been thawing some. We washed today. Callie came this afternoon. Lawrence & Jean came tonight. We played Rook. Jean & I won more games than Lawrence & Rex did. Jean & I won 5 games & Rex & Lawrence one game.
Tuesday, January 7, 1947 I canned 3 gallons of Beaf today. Mother ironed her clothes. She isn't feeling well. I read some tonight. Jimmy Johnson and 2 men came tonight. I wrote a letter to aunt Erma Fowler today.

Wednesday, January 8, 1947 8th Day--357 Days to Follow I canned 3 gallons of Beaf today. Rex [and] Robert went to town today to the tobacco sales. Robert hadn't been to any sales before so he really enjoyed it. I went to Mrs. Jones this afternoon. She says her sister Mrs. Lovan isn't as well the last few days. I read a little tonight. Rex went down to the mines tonight to see Loyd. I wrote a letter to Rudell McGuyer tonight.
Thursday, January 9, 1947 9th Day--356 Days to Follow I ironed today. Rex went to town. I washed my head this afternoon [and] Rolled up my hair. I mended the clothes also. I got a letter from aunt Jonnie Anderson and one from Uncle Joe, Maud [and] Stanley. I Read some tonight.

Friday, January 10, 1947 10th Day--355 Days to Follow We cleaned up the house. I took a Bath this afternoon [and] gave Robert a Bath. I Read a good deal to Robert. I Read some out of his "Bible Story" Book. I wrote a letter to Cousin Lenora Slaton. Mathew went to see Mrs. Jones this afternoon. Loyd come a little while today. I Read some tonight.
Saturday, January 11, 1947 11th Day--354 Days to Follow I went to town with Stella today. Rex, Robert, Uncle Br[o]ck [and] Mathew stayed at home. I ate down in town [and] then I went to the Show. Stella stopped by Mr. St[urn]'s [and] we went in a few. Saw minutes [and] Nancy's new Baby girl. I Read some tonight. I got a letter from aunt Emma Fowler. I got Robert a new Story Book [and] Read it to him tonight.

Sunday, January 12, 1947 We didn't have any company today. I wen't to see Mrs. Jones this afternoon. Mary has gone to Detroit & will stay a week. Charley's oldest girl is going to get married and Mary wen't to be there for the wedding. I Read some tonight. I Read some to Robert also.
Monday, January 13, 1947 We washed today even if it did rain this morning. We hung the clothes in the house. The sun shown a little while this afternoon. Rex wen't to town today. Mrs. Jones came this afternoon. Lawrence & Jean came tonight & we played Rook. Rex & Lawrence won the most games. I have been feeling awful bad all afternoon & tonight. I didn't hardly feel like playing Rook.
