Friday, October 31, 1947 304th Day -- 61 Days to Follow
Virginia Oldham called and said aunt Georgia asked her to call & tell us she couldn't come today that Elsie's car is out of shape and couldn't get it fixed in time to come. Mrs. Jones came this morning. We ate part of mother's birthday cake & fried chicken even if we didn't have any company. Rex & I went to town this afternoon. I went to the Show and saw "Life with Father." It rained some this afternoon & is raining tonight.
Saturday, November 1, 1947 305th Day -- 60 Days to Follow
Mother is 73 years old today. She got a good many presents. We had her dinner yesterday.
It has rained all day. Rex, Robert & I wen't to town. Robert stayed down in town a little while then Rex took him to Jessie's. I ate down in town then I wen't to the Show. I got two magazine's and wen't to the car and read some. It was too rainy to walk around in town. I read some tonight. Mother & Uncle Brack stayed at home. It was too bad a day for Mother to go to town.

Sunday, November 2, 1947 306th Day--59 Days to Follow It has been cloudy all day. Callie came a few minutes this morning to follow our level. Rex, Robert + I went to aunt Jessie Slaton's this afternoon. I read some tonight. I wrote a letter to Mrs. Everett Johnson today + also one to aunt Jonnie Anderson.
Monday, November 3, 1947 307th Day--58 Days to Follow It has been cloudy all day and has rained some so we didn't wash except a few pieces. Callie came this morning + brought the level home. I went to Mrs. Jones this morning and took her some flower slips and some butter milk. Their cow isn't any better. Mrs. McClaren Lawrence + Jean came tonight. We played Rook and had a Right good time.

Tuesday, November 4, 1947 308th Day - 57 Days to Follow Today is Election day. Rex went to town early this morning. I washed & Mother got dinner and churned. I washed out of doors. It started to rain soon after I got though washing so we brought the clothes in the house & hung them in the back bed-room. Rex came after me & I wen't to town & voted & got a cake. We may have company one day this week. Rex wen't to town tonight to hear the election news. It was so rainy that the rest of us stayed at home. I read some tonight.
Wednesday, November 5, 1947 309th Day - 56 Days to Follow aunt Georgia McGuyer, Mrs. Oldham and Mrs. Hopewell Hancock spen't the day with us. Fred Slaton come today and painted some. I read some tonight. Jimmy McGuyer got married last Wednesday.

Thursday, November 6, 1947 310th Day--55 Days to Follow We ironed this morning. I went to Callie's this afternoon and took her some flower slips. I read some tonight.
Friday, November 7, 1947 311th Day--54 Days to Follow I washed some for Robert this morning + I have done the general house work. Mrs. Jones come this afternoon. Mother, Rex, Robert + I wen't to town tonight. Mother went to Jessie's. Rex, Robert + I went to the Show. We sae "The year of the yearling." I believe this is the first Show Rex has gone to since we married. He doesn't like shows very much.

Saturday, November 8, 1947 312th Day - 53 Days to Follow We didn't go to town today as Rex could combine Beans so we stayed at home so he could work. I ironed some this morning. I gathered green Butter Beans and dried Butter Beans out of the garden & a mess of Black eye peas. I pulled up some Beets & gathered a mess of turnip greens. We have had several frost but they didn't seem to hurt anything much. I read some tonight.
Sunday, November 9, 1947 313th Day - 52 Days to Follow We stayed at home all day. Rex combined Beans this afternoon. It has rained so much and kept the ground so soft that he thought he had better work at them when he found the ground dry enough or he might loose them. I wrote a letter to Alyene Rogers, Mae Baines and Cousin Emma Kirkwood. I read some today & tonight also. Callie come a little while late this afternoon.
