Friday January 24, 1947 I canned 2 canning's of meat today. 8 qts. of Ribs & tender loin and 8 qts. of Sausage. I made a cake for Rex birthday also. I still don't feel well & have a bad cold. Clarance went home this afternoon. I Read some tonight. Rex, Robert & I sacked 6 sacks of Sausage tonight. It is a lot warmer today.

Saturday, January 25th 1947 Rex, Robert & I wen't to town today. Robert & I ate down in town then Rex took Robert to Jessie's. I wen't to the Show. I got a Magazine & Read in the car a good while. I didn't feel so well so I had rather read than walk over town so much. My cold is a good deal better. I Read some tonight.

Sunday, January 26, 1947 Rex got a letter from Ernest Baugh yesterday & he said he couldn't find us a room down there so we may not get to go to Fla. Ernest just has one room to his house & I don't think he wants Robert & I . He just wants Rex & Dock to come. Today is Rex birthday. He is 52 years old. I gave a him a shirt & Robert gave him a Book. I made him a cake also. Lin came this afternoon. Andrew & Louis Gipson came a few minutes also. I Read some tonight. Rex read some also. Rex read his new Book.

Monday, January 27, 1947 We washed today. Today has been a beautiful day. The sun is shining and is fairly warm. An awful nice wash day for a January day. Rex has been helping work on the telephone line today. Lawrence, Jean & Mrs. McClaren came tonight & we played Rook. Jean & I won more games than Rex & Lawrance. It really thrills us when we can win.

Tuesday, January 28, 1947 I canned 2 1/2 gallons of sausage today. Mother ironed her clothes & I ironed a few pieces. Harold Sisk ate dinner with us. I took a Bath this afternoon. Harold, Rex & I played Rook tnight. Rex won games than Harold & I. Harold will stay all night with us.

Wednesday, January 29, 1947 Harold went home this morning. Rex & I went to town today. Court met so Rex went to court. I got some new Slippers for everyday, a new pair of hoe's and a new print dress. I ate down in town then I went to Jessie's. They hadn't eaten so I ate with them also and spent the rest of the day with them. I Read some tonight.

Thursday, January 30, 1947 It rained hard last night & the wind blew hard. Homer Daugherty came this morning & he heard there was a storm last night in Mo. & 3 people killed. I ironed today & mended the clothes. I don't feel so well my side is hurting again. I sure hope I don't have appendicitis. I read some to Robert tonight out of his "Bible Story Book" I read 2 chapters out of the Bible. I Read some tonight also.

Friday, January 31, 1947 Rex helped Fletcher Kill hogs today. I washed my Bedroom windows and hung clean curtains and moped & waxed the floor. I moped the dining Room & Kitchen floor. I washed the Kitchen windows and hung clean curtains. I washed my head & took a Bath & gave Robert a Bath. I Read to Robert out of his "Bible Story Book." I Read some tonight.

Saturday, February 1, 1947 Rex, Robert & I went to town today. Robert went to Jessie's. I ate down in town & I went to the show. I went to see Dr. Finley today. I don't think he found anything very Serious wrong with me. He said I might have had a slight attack of Appenditcitis but not bad enough to operate. I Read some tonight. albert told me that Mrs. Chess Lyons is seriously ill. I don't feel so well tonight.

Sunday, February 2, 1947 Rex & I went to church at Liberty today. Lin & Jessie came & spent the day with us. I Read some tonight to Robert out of his "Bible Story Book". I Read some tonight also. I don't feel so well.
