BEAR MEADOWS, Centre Co. Pa. 22. Ⅶ. 50. —————— AESHNA VERTICALIS: 1 female taken as it made its first flight from the edge of the bog stream. Also collected was the exuvia from which she presumably came. Specimen kept alive in a paper bag for several days.

CORDULEGASTER DIASTATOPSl 3 males. Taken while they patrolled the stream through the bog in the same manner as the Somatochlors, though their flight was lower and without the frequent 'marking time' of Somatochlora and Cordulia.

SOMATOCHLORA TENEBROSA: 2 females. Netted out of the air over the bog.

SOMATOCHLOR WALSHII: 4 males. Flying over the bog and the stream in their usual manner. They have apparently not yet reached their maximum abundance. (Compare with 1949)

CORDULIA SHURTLEFFI: 3 males, 1 female.

DOROCORDULIS LIBERA: 1 male.

LEUCORRHINIA HUDSONICA: 2 males, 3 femles.

ROAD ALONG BIG WEIKER RUN, SW OF Weikert, Union Co., Pa. 23. Ⅶ. 50. —————————— HAGENIUS BREVISTYLUS: 3 males, 2 females. All taken squatting in the middle of the dirt road. They flew along in front of the car when disturbed, and, if the car was stopped, would settle in the road about fifty feet ahead. If approached stealthily, it was usually possible to catch them if the collector could get within about ten feet; at shorter distances their vision must be less good.
