Collection Description: The Washington Agricultural Literary Society was formed at the Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania (later Agricultural College of Pennsylvania, then Pennsylvania State College, now the Pennsylvania State University) in 1859. In 1869 it changed its name to the Washington Literary Society, and continued under this name until its dissolution in 1895. The collection contains the society's governing documents, minutes, membership lists, correspondence, financial records, program information, and library records dating from 1859-1895.
