1 1/2 c molasses, beat till it foams

Stir in 2 c flour into hot molasses

Set aside to cool

2 c sugar

3 eggs, beaten about 15 mins

1 tsp soda

With juice of 1 lemon, put this with sugar and eggs

1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp cloves

1 1/2 c almonds or hickory nuts ground

Add enough flour to make stiff dough to roll

Roll and cut in squares
