Cookies
1 1/2 c sugar 1 c lard 1 c sour milk 2 eggs 1 tsp Baking Powder 1 tsp soda pinch salt flavoring

Butter Scotch Pie
Melt 2 tablespoons of Butter + one cupful of brown sugar. Cook 'til a rich brown then add a cupful of scalded milk. Simmer a few minutes until sugar is dissolved & whip in the yolk of 1 egg beaten well with 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Bake in thin pie crust until custard is set. Serve with whipped cream or with meringue made with white of Egg.

Cheese Straws
One half cup butter. One cup grated cheese, One +1/2 cups flour. one half teaspoon salt. A dash of cayenne pepper. Yolk one egg:
Mix first ingredients well together. like pie paste. Add egg yolk last. Roll about 1/4 in. thick, cut out in strips and bake in fairly hot oven.
Good to serve at luncheons.

Salad Dressing
2 Eggs, 5 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt, little red pepper 1 teaspoon mustard; 3 tablespoon flour. Beat these well together. Then add 1/2 cup Vinegar. let boil slowly. Then add 1 cup milk very slowly, so as not to curdle. Make in double boiler.
