New York Butter Cakes

(Note: This is the last of a 2- yr season of Broadcasts by
Pillsbury Flour Mills C, Minneapolis)

Makes 18-24

Sift together
3 1/4 C flour
1/2 tsp soda
1 " salt
4 " [?bac] powder

To
1 egg yolk slightly beaden
Add 1 1/2 C butter milk
1 T melted butter

Combine the two mixtures to make a soft dough.

Turn onto lightly floured board. Pat to 1/4 in thickness.
Cut into rounds and Bake on hot greased griddle.
