Peanut Butter Bran Muffins (Radio Kitchen Recipes) 3 T peanut butter (creamed) 1/4 c. gran. sugar (added gradually) add 2 well beaten egg to peanut butter mixture Add 1 c scalded milk 1 c bran flakes } little bit at a time

Sieve together 1 c bread flour 1 t bak. powder 1 t salt

Add dry ingreds. to liquid + mix as slightly as possible. Bake in greased muffin tins 400 - 20 min.

Pineapple Muffins

Radio Recipe Mary Ellis Ames 2/14/36 Makes 18 Sift together 3 c flour 1/2 c sugar 2 T bak. pow. 1 tsp. salt Mix together 2 eggs well beaten 1 c crushed pineapple, drained 1 T melted shortening 1 1/2 c milk Combine the two mixtures and mix only until the ingredients are blended. Bake about 30 min. 400 F (mod. oven).

(Pour into well greased tins - only 3/4 full)

Orange Puffs (Copied from Florence's collections) 1/2 c butter 2 eggs 2 c pastry flour 2/3 c sugar 3/4 c milk 1/4 tsp salt Grated rind of 1 orange

Cream butter and sugar together. Add well beaten egg yolks. Mix or sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture, alternately with milk. Cut + fold in the stiffly beaten beaten egg white and grated orange rind. Pour into greased muffin pans + bake in hot oven (400) for 25 min.

Sour Cream Cake

1 c sugar 1/2 c butter 1 c sour cream or milk 2 eggs 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp cloves 1 tsp bak. powder 1/2 tsp soda 2/3 c. raisins (dredged) 2 c. flour Cream together sugar + butter Add well beaten eggs. Mix + sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour cream or milk. Bake in layers in a moderate oven (375) for 25 min.

Strawberry Jam Gems (Radio Kitchen Recipe 7/10/34

Sieve together 2 c bread flour 1/2 T salt 2 tsp bak. powder

Cut in about 1/4 c. shortening Add 3/4 c. milk - may be more or less

Knead very lightly

Form biscuits, make dent in top, put in tbsp. strawberry jam, and pull dough together entirely over the jam, so that is entirely encases the jam.

Bake 15 min. in hot oven.
