macoroni in tomato sauce poured around.
Tomato Sauce for Meats
1 pint stewed tomatoes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1 small onion
1 bay leaf
1 sprig parsley
1 blade mace
Salt and pepper
Put the tomatoes on to cook with the seasoning.
Simmer gently for 10 min.
Melt butter, add flour and cook smooth.
Put tomatoes through a sieve, add
to butter and flour
and stir steadily until it thickens
Season
May be served with roast beef
chops or boiled steak.
