Grapefruit Drop cookies.
¼ cups butter
1 cups sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tbsp. grated grapefruit rind
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
¼ cup grapefruit juice
½ cup nuts
Warm butter with sugar. Add
eggs & grapefruit rind. Mix thor=
oughly. Sift flour, measure & sift
with baking powder & salt. Add
alternately with grapefruit juice
to creamed mixture. Add nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well
oiled baking sheet. Bake in a
moderate oven (375°-400°) 10 -12 mins.

Pork Chops with Spanish Rice.
6 pork chops
2 tbsp. shortening
¾ cups unwashed rice
1 cups boiling water
2 tsp. salt & ¼ tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
2 tbsp. chopped onion
3 cups tomato juice
Brown pork chops in hot
shortening. Add remaining
ingredients. Cover. Cook in slow
oven 325° F. for 1 ½ hours.
