Southern Beaten Biscuit.

Sift 3/4 tsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp.
salt and 3 cups sifted
flour together. Blend in
1/3 cup lard, and then
add about 1/2 cup milk
(more or less). Have a
very stiff dough, about
the consistency of pie
dough. Place on a
floured board, and
beat until dough
blisters, use an old
fashioned potato masher.
When thoroly blistered,
roll 1/2 inch thickness,
cut with a small
biscuit cutter. Prick with
a fork. Place on a
greased baking sheet
and bake in a moderate
oven at 350 F. about
30 mins.
