Sir:

Will you forward to me a statement of the appointment & favor of O. M. Wozencraft as Indian Agent & Commissioner and such instruction or other documents as will illustrate his authority to execute Contracts for the supply of beef &c to Indians in California under treaty made with them in the year 1851.

I desire this information to investigate a claim referred to me as one of the Com on Indian Affairs.
