Hon. A B. Greenwood
Commissioner of Indian Affairs
I am in receipt of your communication of the 18th [inst./] in reference to the survey of the Nome Lackee Indian Reservation, which, it is alleged, contains errors in Sections 2.3 of 4 Township 24N R6W Mount Diablo, Meridian, California, in consequence of which certain improvements made by the Indians have been excluded therefrom, and in order to ascertain the particular subdivision upon which those improvements have been made you have directed the Superintendent Mr. McDuffie to report to you, and in the meantime you request that all action in the aforesaid sections may be suspended by this office.
[Agreeably?] to your said request I have caused to be suspended the action upon the tracts within those sections, our tract books showing some of them to have been sold & others selected by the State of California for school purposes.
