In my letter of the 19th of October last, is situated as near as I can jusge, withoug an actual survey of the premises, or the Western portions of Section No. 3 Township 24 instead of Section 9 as represented on this map of the original survey.

Mr Gaters the gentlemans whose [names?] is [moralized?] on the [illegible] half of section 3 is a member of the [Yites?] family, most of whom have from time to time [?] in the [?] of [?] [?] [?] [?] appear on his official return of [?]

Sir,

I have the honor to acknowledge the [rcet.?] [receipt?] of your two letters dated Dec. 31, 1859, and Jany [January] 28, 1860 making inquiry concerning lands purchased by Y. E. Geiger on the [Name?] Lacker Reservation.

In reply I have to state that no land has been sold within the boundaries of the Name Lacker Reservation

The only lands purchased by Y. E. Geiger at this office are the Eighty acre tracts immediately adjoining the Reservation, viz, the East 1/2 of the South West quarter of Section No. two (2) Township No. twenty four (24) North, [Range?] No. Six (6) West - Eighty - (80) acres at $[133?] per acre $[124.00?]
