Red Bluff, Nov 16th 1860

V E Geiger Esqr

Dear Sir I have been patiently awaiting your return at this place ever since you left. Please let me know at what time you will return and complete the inventory of the government property at Nome Lackee. I beg to inform you that it must be done soon, as I am obliged to report to the Department of Indian Affairs within a very few days. If you fail to finish the inventory and to present your accounts with those of the employees at the Nome Cult reserve in accordance with the requirements of instructions, what shall I say, who is in fault you have had ample time. I notified you in compliance with my instructions on the 21st Sept of what was required of you, you proceeded to comply by commencing the inventory of property at Nome Lackee, but was unable to finish it because you could not get up all the stock. At your request we proceeded to Nome Cult a branch or an appendage to Nome Lackee. We arrived there took the inventory of all the property with the estimated value of each article, and in obedience to notice the employees presented their respective accounts for services rendered there up to the 23rd Sept. You certified to them, I also certified to them as required by my instructions. I employed the same men on the 24th Sept, under the provisions of the law passed at the last session of Congress
