Sir: As the accounts of Sylvester Mowrey, late Comr to survey the boundary between the territories of the United States & California, have been referred to this office, and as I find from papers before me that certain moneys were placed in his hands under the head of “Presents for Indians”, I will thank you to inform me whether any allowance has been made, or claim preferred for Mr Mowrey's services in that behalf, since the 15th August, 1860.
