The outrages from time to time perpetrated at Round Valley Ind. Reservation by unprincipled white men against the rights of the Indians and Govt. property. compelled me to call upon Brig. Genl. G. Wright for troops to remove the Settlers from the Indian Reservation & to which he has responded to as follows

"Head Quarters Dept of the Pacific
San Francisco Nov 5th 1862

Sir,

I have rec'd your communication of 3d inst. with enclosures

A company of U.S. Troops has been posted at the Nome Cult Ind. Res. in Round Valley & the Officer in Command has been instructed to Remove from the Reservation all persons now residing within it's limits, on the requisition of your Supervisor.
