and that there still stands due the creditors of this Agency $3057.15.

It was in consequence of this letter, that this office requested of Mr. Lewis a list of all the creditors from the 1st July 1859, to the end of his term of service.

The enclosed certificate is a response, in part, to this request.

The credit of the vouchers in question, amounting to $725.97, having been found to Mr. Lewis, this sum should now be paid to Mr. Hughes (together with the aforesaid sum of $652.64.) late Agent Lewis to be held accountable for the same, to wit, $723.97.
