Millerton Fresno County California April 2d 1863

Hon Wm P Dole

Dear Sir Yours of Feby 20th, 1863 has been received, and in compliance with your request I herewith enclose the certificates of indebtness to James W Roane, transferred by him to me. I also transmit a statement from M B Lewis late Sub Ind Agent notifying the apparent discrepencies in our accounts. I also forward certificate of indebtedness to me for Goods furnished during the administration of J Y McDuffee as superintendent of Indian Affairs. This I omitted to mention in my former letter for the reason that Mr Hughs received no encouragement regarding the McDuffe accounts, at the time that the Henley accounts were ordered to be paid.

Now if the Roane & McDuffee matters can be adjusted at the same time will it not be better for all parties concerned

Yours Truly, Lewis Leach
