Dear Sir I am the holder of a claim against H. P. Heintzelman as Indian Agent [Name?] in 1860, amounting to 325.28/100. and for services from July 1. 1860. to Sept 18 60 include 2 mo, & 18 days at 125. per mo. Said adjustment of salary was made to me by Mr H. and for which I paid him the cash. Some 6 mo ago H. P. Heintzelman represented to me that his account paid all fees allowed and that he would soon be accepting a draft from Washington in [illegible] Mr H. has left him for Mexico and I am desirous of ascertaining if a dft was forwarded to him from Washington in settlement of his affairs in order that I may commence a civil suit against him. I write to you Sir at the suggestion of Mr Wentworth our Indian Agent and would respectfully request that you would reply at your earliest convenience
