Asks for certain vouchers concerning his a/c.

the have been taken; especially, when the money has been sent to the persons; in which cases the ori ginal has been sent to your office; & the triplicate and duplicate signed by myself for clerk, and thus marked "Signed" &c Now it is doubtless the case in this instance, wherein you have very properly taken exception to Voucher No 3. in 2nd qr. return of 1862 as having been paid twice embracing all the time & services rendered, as charged in Voucher No 7 of 3rd. qr 1862 which I find itemized. and the amt. exactly the same as in Voucher 3 of 2nd. qr. As Dugan & Wall positively refuses to pay back the money, (as Mr. Bryson informs me by letter) I must either loose [lose] that amount or coerce it out of them - and I cannot do that except I produce the Voucher signed by their own hand. Hence I

have to request, that you enclose to me either the duplicate or original voucher, of Dugan & Wall No 3. 2 qr. 1862, which by comparison with their signatures in Voucher No 7 of 3rd qr. 1862 & Voucher No 59 1st qr 1863 you will see is genuine. Mr. Bryson informs me they deny even having recd the money twice, & will not pay it & I feel unwilling to loose [lose] it. Please enclose the desired copy either to myself or Mr. Bryson it shall be faithfully returned as soon as possible. I have the honor to be your obt. sevt. Geo. M. Hanson Late Supty Agt &c.
