Hon Wm P. Dole Cams &c Sir, Enclosed please find the Rect of E Steele Supty agt & for goods turned over to him or his Special Agent Mr. Mayhew. I have to request that you send me a bill of the goods purchased by yr agent for the N. Dist of Cal. last spring or summer; as I have either lost or mislaid the original sent to me; & they will be important in making the contemplated settlement with Hon J.R. Browne - please not delay the copy as Mr. Steele refuses to pay the claims of Hamblin for his cattle until a settlement can be had. I have the Honor to be your obt Sevt.
