Dear Sir,
Your letter of the 15th,
January 1863 has been recieved, a long time on the
[illegible], as usual when not mailed direct to Millerton.
My residence in this County is permanent, once it
is hoped for the future, as will be the pleasure of
the Department -- to forward all communication to
my address, to Millerton [bal.ce?]
In answer to that question of your letter which
refers me to the requirements made mention of in
[symbol?] office letter of the 28th, ultimo, -- I here to [hereto?] state
that, the Communication, reference to, from the
Second Auditor, to me, was never recvd, neither
did any such document ever arrive at Millerton.
--But as I here to hope, from the reading of yours
I was [enabled?] to anticipate, the courtesy of his 2nd,
Auditors letter, -- Consequently, did on the 1st day of
January just mail to your address, the required abstract
with a letter of explanation, which is hoped will
prove satisfactory.
