Marysville California 18" august 1864 Sir Enclosed is a copy of a Letter addressed by me to you in April last on the subject of the late Dr Hastings claim of $800 for services as Surgeon in the Indian department to which letter I have not received any answer. I shall Esteem in a favor if you will cause the matter to be attended to as speedily as possible.
