I will do all in my power to have the goods reach
the Indians as soon as possible, but much depends
upon the weather as to the time; at present the
prospects are not flattering, as the trails to Hoopa and
Round Valley are now closed to pack-trains.

I thus allude to the hardship produced by the arrival
of these goods so late in the season, to call your
attention to the necessity, (provided goods are to be
purchased in New York) of shipping them as early
as March or April next.

Very Respectfully,
Your Obt Servant
Austin Wiley

Hon Wm P. Dole
