Sir,

I return, herewith, the papers
that accompanied your letter of the
19 ultimo (May 19), in relation to improvements
on Hoopa Valley Reservation in California,

I concur with late secretary
Usher, in the views confined in his letter
to you of the 24th ultimo (May 24), in relation to
the subject; and with one modification,
you will carry out his instructions that
is you will require a separate appraisement
of the "Improvements," and "Implements."
or personal effect to be made, and as the
appreciation for said improvements is not
applicable to the payment for personal property,
the appreaisemtn of the [illegible] may be
payable out of some other [illegible].
