Sir,

I enclose herewith [three?] accounts incurred during [Hanson's] administration which I [embody?] in the form of an appendix to the abstract of indeffedness forwarded Dec 12th 1864.

The account of Mr S.H. Wetherbee I am satisfied is correct and therefore recommend its speedy payment. The accounts of J.M. [Gommack?] I submit without recommendation having no means of forming an opinion as to it correctedness.

Appendix to [illegible] No. 1 abstract of [Indeffedness?] of Indian Dept in California forwarded Dec 12th 1864

1. S.H. Wetherbee 508.10 This account is for the transportation of merchandise from San Francisco to Noyo River during the years 1861 & 1863 as per voucher accompanying. Mr Steele appears to have been satisfied of the correctedness of the account judging from the character of the letter from him which is attached to the voucher. I am well acquainteed with Mr Wetherbee and from my knowledge of his character believe the account to be just and correct.

2. J.M. [Commack?] 3975 For 140 head of cattle delivered at Round Valley July 1st 1862 consisting of 46 milch cows, 46 beef steers, and 48 1 & 2 year old steets & heifers averging [475?] lbs each at $15 each. $2100 For 125 head of cattle delivered at Round Valley, Sept 20th 1862 consisting of 41 milch cows. 41 beef steers, and 43 1 & 2 year old steer and heifer averaging 500 lbs each at $15 per head. $1875

Mr. Hanson certifies on honor that the foregoing account is correct & just and the cattle thus sold to US were necessary to the Indian service.

4483.10 3. J.M. [Gommack?] 5[?]5.00 For 35 head of beef cattle delivered at [name?] Reservation. killed and [feued?] to the Indians in April May June & July 1862. average weight 500 lbs at $15 per head. Mr Hanson certifies to the account as follows. "I certify on honor the above accoun is correct and just & the cattle thus used were necessary to the Indian service."

I am unable to express an opinion upon the correctness of the two accounts of Mr [McCormack?] being unable to learn any thing in regard to the transactions. 5008.10
