High Point Aug. 7th 93

My dear Daughter,

Your two postals were received the first just as I was sitting down to breakfast Friday morn the other I got from the office when I was returning from Mr. Roggans where I had been to buy wheat I asked not expecting to get any thing so was agreeably surprised and pleased to know you were getting along so nicely, came home fed the chickens took my own supper quite comfortable and I hope with a thankful heart soon Mrs Milliken came in and asked if I wanted her to help me to bed or to do any thing, Mrs. Clark came and stayed till bed time, Minnie came

stayed all night seemed quite like home [flks?] left early in the morning I think she likes to stay with me. I have been quite as well as before you left I think I have behaved beautifully so much better than I thought I could when I feel lonely I quiet myself thinking of your happiness. Friday I busied myself about the house and taking long rest between Saturday after I had gotten through with household duties and was lying on the lounge the bell rang Miss Callie called with carriage for me to ride, it was de lightful just cool enough and no dust at all, you were mentioned several times she regretted not seeing you before you left, we returned about 12 gave the chickens their dinner and got my own and was lying down when Gracie came said she

practice if I had no objection Mrs. Jones came in and made a social visit. I went up and told Minnie if she wanted to be home Saturday night I would not expect her. This morning got up at 7 made coffee fried ham and eggs got Mrs. M. to fry batter cakes enjoyed my break -fast very well after SS. Miss Maude and [Mamy?] Jordon called to go to church with me. Mr. D. gave us a very good ser mon said God did not tempt any one to sin or harden any ones heart but with drew the restraining influence of His spirit and let them follow their own evil inclination, I wished I could un -derstand him better, this evening took a long rest read the Christian Herald. Mrs. Farrabie came in made a long visit and now it is near night, my head eyes are about used up will not finish this till I receive a letter from you

Tuesday 3 P.M. Your letter came to hand this morning, every part was of deepest interest and most satisfactory.

I received a letter from Charlie yesterday saying she would stay a while lon[g]er as you would be there so soon

I cannot tell you how glad I was, felt that it would make up for Mary's and Lulas absence. I know she was surpris -ed and disappointed when she reciev -ed C's telegram. Yesterday the usual Mondays papers came I read all my head and eyes would, about 3 P.M. Gracie came to practice she had not been gone long when Estell and Jessie R. came before they left Eva Thurton came and stayed till night all enquired particularly about you and sent love Estelle brought me nice grapes Mrs. Clark came and sat till bed time apo -logised for coming the day before.

My friends are very kind seem anxious to do something for my pleasure

Miss Nannie came home Friday night
