"4328" Sunday June 5th 1887

My Dear mother: I have been waiting for something definite in way of information before writing answer to yours of 23d Ult. I have not succeeded in finding the right place for the money.

I wrote to Mr. Holmes Supt. of the Mission S. S. for address of Mrs. Squires but his answer was that "she had not been with them for more than a year" so he did not know her address. He referred me to her son at M. Fields & Co. Wholesale. I wrote to him and he gave me his mothers address which I will enclose in this letter.

Had a letter from L. Friday in which she gave pleasant report of visit of Charlie to her. Says she can see no change

in him since she saw him last.

I go out home almost every night after supper at Restaurant and get the 6:25 train to City in morning and get breakfast at Restaurant on way to the Store - getting to store about 7:30. This is the rule - the exception is when I come over here with Geo., usually Saturday night. I enjoy a romp (a mild one) with the children. Hazel is a serious little miss and it took her a long time to get so that she would not frown & pucker up her face when I came near but I think after today she will know me. I believe it is the intention to baptize Hazel next Sunday.

Has Lily named the baby Mary? L. says that is what you call it. It is rather early to formulate the summer program but that need not interfere with Charlie's intention as expressed in his last letter about which I hope to hear more shortly.

Love to all from Your loving Son Hughes
