Dear Mrs. Shipman,

Last night I received the sad news of the passing of Mr. W. G. Shipman, and I want to express my sympathy for you, and your lovely family. It is almost beyond my realization that his bright, cheerie "Hello Miss Edith" – I shall hear no more. What was the matter? He seemed so well, when I saw him in January.
