1861 Diary of Reverend Cheeseman

Description
This is the 1861 diary of Reverend Edwin Salisbury Cheeseman of Theresa, New York. It is largely a chronicle of very ordinary activities that are nevertheless delightful to read. In January, Reverend Cheeseman is a student at Methodist Biblical Institute in Concord, New Hampshire. He leaves the seminary somewhat suddenly in March. He returns home to Theresa, New York and spends the rest of the year in that vicinity.

A long interview with Reverend Cheeseman was published in Sandy Creek News on  November 21, 1912 on Page 2.

I am in the process of scanning his 1872 diary. A historian in Theresa has his diaries from 1883 and 1885. Transcriptions of those two are available on https://jefferson.nygenweb.net/theresa.htm
