Sir
The Inhabitants of the Western side of the
Allegany Mountains having, 'till L'd Dunmore's
Excursion amongst them, been always deem'd within the
limits of Pennsylvania, are therefore, tho' numerous, depriv'd
of the Benefits of being and Intire County Divided from
the other part of Augusta County by the distance of more
than Two hundred miles, and an almost inaccessable
Mountain, they humbly conceive, they can not be properly
represented by Delegates, ever so worthy, chosen by the
Eastern part of Augusta; who, as they have never been
amongst them, can know nothing of their ardent desire
to concur with the rest of their Brethren, in defending the
Rights of British Americans, against the arbitrary
attacks of any unconstitutional Assembly of Men under
Heaven They have therefore proceeded to choose Deligates
to represent them in the ensuing Congress and beg that,
you Sir, whose Candour, Great Abilities and goodness of
Heart, they are no stranges to, tho many of them are to
your Person, will excuse the Liberty of this address
