No 923 1. Virginia Surry County Sct Harrison alias Harrison Bailey a black man who was emancipated by the will of James Bailey deceased dated first day of May 1843 and proved before and ordered to be recorded by the county court of Surry on the 25th day of January 1847 aged sixty three years and upwards has a round face is a little grey haired has no marks or scars perceptable and is five feet six and three quarter inches high. The said Harrison alias Harrison Bailey is registered of the above description in the office of the clerk of the county court of Surry this 26th day of July 1847. Teste Wm P. Underwood c.c.

No 924 Virginia: Surry County Sct Samuel alias Samuel Bailey a black man who was emancipated by the will of James Bailey deceased, dated first day of May 1843 and proved before and ordered to be recorded by the county court of Surry on the 25th day of January 1847 aged fifty years and upwards has a round face no marks or scars perceptable and is five feet six and a half inches high. The said Samuel Bailey is registered of the above description in the office of the clerk of the county court of Surry this 26th day of July 1847. Teste Wm P Underwood c.c.

No 925 Virginia Surry County Sct Robert alias Robert Pretlow son of Lindy Pretlow a free woman was born free as appears by the certificate of Benjamin N. Epps aged twenty one years, has a scar on the left cheek bone, spare made brown complexion and is five feet four and a half inches high. The said Robert alias Robert Pretlow is registered of the above description in the office of the clerk of the county court of Surry the 26th day of July 1847 Teste, Wm P. Underwood c.c.

2 No 926 Virginia Surry To wit: Nancy, alias Nancy Trusty, a black woman of low stature aged about thirty five years was born free as appears by [[struck]: the certificate]] former certificate obtained from the Clerk of this court has a small scar on each of her three fingers on the right hand produced by a burn, has a large nose, thick lips, and is four feet nine inches high. The said Nancy, alias Nancy Trusty [[struck]: of]] is again registered of the above description in the office of the Clerk of this county court of Surry, this 26th day of July 1847 Teste Wm. P. Underwood, CC. _ No 927 Virginia Surry County To wit: Annias, alias Annanias Browne a free man of low stature, dark complexion, and thick lips was born free as appears by the Certificate of Zachariah Harris aged twenty three years and upwards has a scar on left arm above the elbow joint and one upon the right arm below the elbow, and is five feet, four inches high. The said Annanias, alias Annanias Browne is registered of the above description in the Clerks office of Surry County court this 26th day of July 1847 Teste Wm. P. Underwood, CC. _ No 928 Virginia Surry County To wit: William, alias William Pretlow son of Linder Pretlow a free woman was born free as appears by the certificate of Thomas C. Harrison aged twenty three years has a scar on the right cheek just below the eye yellow complexion, and is five feet eight and a half inches high. The said William, alias William Pretlow is registered of the above description in the office of the Clerk of Surry County Court this 26 July 1847.

No 929 Virginia Surry County Sct Mary alias Mary Barnes daughter of Lucy Barnes was born free as appears by the certificate of William M West is of brown complexion, has a mole under the [[struck]: ear]] left ear, a scar on the left wrist, a large scar on the left foot occasioned by a burn aged twenty one years and upwards and is five feet and a quarter of an inch high. The said Mary alias Mary Barnes is registered of the above description in the office of the Clerk of Surry County Court this 23rd day of August 1847. Teste Wm. P. Underwood cc _ No 930 Virginia Surry County Sct: Thomas alias Thomas Howell a free man of bright complexion, was born of free parents as appears by a former Certificate of registry obtained from the Clerk of this Court; has a scar on his left leg large nose, aged about thirty three years, and is five feet ten inches high. The said Thomas alias Thomas Howell is registered again of the above description in the Clerks Office of Surry County Court this 23rd August 1847. [[struck]: A Copy]] Teste Wm. P. Rebecca alias Rebecca Charity daughter of William Pool and Elizabeth Pool (fn.) was born free as appears by the Certificate of William W Bell is of yellow complexion bushy or strait hair no marks or scars, is five feet four and a quarter inches high, and aged twenty [six?] years and upwards. 4 No 932 Virginia Surry County Sct. Cornelius, alias Cornelius Charity son of Henry Charity and Matilda his wife free negroes was born free as appears by the Certificate of William W. Bell, aged about nineteen years of brown Complexion, rather spare make, has a small scar on the forehead over the right eye, has scars on the first and second finger of the left hand and one on the top of the left foot, and is five feet eleven inches high. The said Cornelius, alias Cornelius Charity is registered of the above description in the Office of the Clerk of Surry County Court this 23rd August 1847 Teste Wm. P. Underwood, CC.

No. 933. Virginia Surry County Sct. Wilie Bailey son of Lucy Bailey was born free as appears by a former Certificate of registry obtained from the Clerk of this court has a scar between the collar bone and shoulder and a scar on the right leg, aged twenty six years and upwards, and is five feet four and a quarter inches high. The said Wilie, alias Wilie Bailey is again registered of the above description in the Office of the Clerk of Surry County Court, this 23rd day of August 1847. Teste Wm. P. Underwood, CC.

No. 934 Virginia Surry County Sct. Tom, alias Tom Smith a boy of yellow complexion was born free as appears by the certificate of Alexander Faison has no marks or scars aged twenty one years and upward and is five feet seven and three quarter inches high. The said Tom, alias Tom Smith is registered of the above description in the Office of the Clerk of Surry County Court, this 23rd day of August 1847

No. 935 Virginia Surry County sct: Glassgow Ellis a free black man of this county son of Patience alias Patience Ellis a woman liberated by Caleb Ellis formerly of this County, the said Glassgow was born free as appears by a former register made by the Clerk of this Court, a Copy of which heretofore furnished him he states he has lost he is forty four years of age and upwards is five feet seven inches high full face wide distended nostrils has a Scar on his left wrist, occasioned by a burn, and a Scar on his left hand occasioned by the bite of a snake. The said Glassgow Ellis is again registered of the above description by order of court made this day in the Office of the Clerk of Surry County Court this 23rd August 1847. Teste Wm. P. Virginia Surry County Sct: Henry alias Henry Blizzard a free boy of brown complexion was born of free parents as appears by the Certificate of John L Davis [illegible] has lost all the fingers on his right hand, and the arm much smaller than the other occasioned as he says by a burn, has a scar on his forehead is of spare make aged twenty four years and is five feet seven inches high. The said Henry alias Henry Blizzard is registered of the above description in the Clerks office of Surry County Court, this 27th day of September 1847. Teste Wm P. Underwood cc _ No. 937. Virginia Surry County sct Albert alias Albert Spratley a black man aged twenty nine years and upwards was born free as appears by a former Certificate obtained from the Clerk of this Court has two scars upon the right side of his neck near his collar bone full face and is five feet eight and a half inches high.
